Pollensa town

Pollensa is a traditional town with many buildings that date back to around the 18th century. The town’s little winding streets lead to cafés, restaurants, and cultural activities such as the weekly market and local galleries.

A true highlight of the town is the 365 Calvari steps that lead to a little church overlooking panoramic hilltop views. Those looking for a more adventurous walk can head up the nearby Puig de Maria, which leads to a sandstone former monastery and chapel.

Pollensa might sit slightly inland, but it is still only a fifteen-minute drive from its coastal counterpart, making it easy to take a trip to the beach.

Puerto Alcúdia villas

This bustling marina borders the main town of Alcúdia and has a sweeping 7km beach, extending into Muro Beach to the south. In the summer, the sand fills with loungers and tourists soaking up the sun by crystalline waters.

Discover stunning villas for sale in Puerto Alcudia, one of Mallorca’s most desirable coastal destinations. Santa Ponsa

Santa Ponsa’s beaches are stunning, from the main blue flag beach, set against a pine tree backdrop, to the smaller cove beach known as ‘little beach’.

The area has an international feel, with visitors and residents from around the world who come to explore the bars, restaurants, beaches, and golf course.

Santa Ponsa is only half an hour from the airport, making it an accessible choice for anyone looking to buy an apartment or villa in Mallorca.

Puerto Andratx villas

The stylish port of Puerto Andratx (Port Andratx) is home to luxurious properties, incredible sunsets, and a wonderfully picturesque harbour. The former fishing village is surrounded by gorgeous scenery, with plenty of opportunities to sample local cuisine and peek inside the port’s boutiques.

Although there isn’t a sandy beach at Puerto Andratx, the nearby Cala Llamp Bay is a stunning natural cove. What’s more, with over 200 beaches lining Mallorca’s coastline, you are never too far from a sandy stretch.

Santanyí villas for sale

Wander around streets lined with golden sandstone villas in Santanyí town. The town has historical walls, which were built to protect against pirates, as well as a slightly newer tower.

The beaches are a few kilometres away, but there is still plenty to explore here. With a twice-weekly market and pretty cafés and restaurants, both visitors and residents can take advantage of everything the town has to offer.

Santanyí refers to both the town and the wider area it is in, which also has lovely places to explore, eat out, and relax, including in Cala d’Or.

Cala d’Or

Cala d’Or’s buildings are modelled on Ibizan architecture, where white, cube-shaped villas line the streets. The area is home to several gorgeous coves with small sandy beaches, as well as cafés and restaurants.

The local Marina is perfect for an evening stroll, filled with luxury yachts and restaurants. For those who want to venture further afield, a bus leaves from the area for the Parc natural de Mondragó. There, visitors are treated to incredible vistas, sandy beaches, and meandering wildlife walks.

Palma

A few years ago, Palma was voted the Sunday Times best place to live thanks to its picturesque old town, lovely beaches, and warm climate, with the newspaper describing the city as “an easy place to assimilate as a Briton abroad”.

Indeed, Palma offers the perfect opportunity to explore a bustling city without missing out on Mediterranean life. With distinct districts and gorgeous properties, Palma is an attractive option for buyers and holidaymakers alike. There is so much to see in the island’s capital, from boutique shops to the gothic-style Bellver castle.

Portixol – Palma suburb

As you walk along the promenade at Portixol in the Palma suburbs, you will notice how trendy it feels. With several sandy beaches and plenty of activities to choose from, the area attracts an international and local crowd.

Puerto Portal and Portal Nous – west of Palma

Puerto Portals is a highly exclusive marina area, about fifteen minutes from Palma. Many nearby properties are located in the lovely Portal Nous, which offers a great alternative to Palma for those wishing to live a little further out of the city.

The resort has a white sandy beach, a glamourous marina, and high-end properties with gorgeous views. Whether you spend the day strolling around the shops, relaxing in a café, or sunbathing on the beach, you are never far from the island’s capital.

Deià

Deià is a beautiful village nestled below a rocky mountain. Its winding streets, sandstone buildings and artistic heritage make it particularly desirable for celebrities, locals, and travellers.

As Vogue explains “the fairy tale-like village in Spain’s Balearic Islands, has had such a magnetic effect on creative figures over the years, drawing in icons from the worlds of art, fashion, music, film, and literature.”

Properties in Deià tend to reflect the area’s Mallorcan character, with pretty traditional-style buildings that have often been renovated to the highest standards inside. See what Deià has to offer.

Valldemossa

Like Deià, Valldemossa is perched in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. The charming town has a very interesting history. It is thought to be the birthplace of Mallorca’s saint, Santa Catalina Thomas. It was also famously a retreat for Frédéric Chopin and the writer George Sand between 1838 and 1839.

Today, many visitors are attracted by the area’s natural beauty. As you wander around the town, you will notice some of the blonde stone buildings are now home to little boutiques and restaurants, too. Although not by the sea, the town is close to several coves and is only a thirty-minute drive from Palma.
