On April 18 was held in Mallorca the seventh edition of the race Ultra Mallorca Serra de Tramuntana that is carried out with two objectives:

– To publicize and promote the sport of ultra-endurance on the island.
– Promote Serra, a World Heritage Site, as an ideal place to hold this type of sports competitions.

In this edition of the race has been had three amazing tours:

– Ultra Mallorca from Andratx to Pollença, 112 kilometers, starting in Andratx and 800 participants.
– Trail Mallorca from Valldemossa to Pollença, 67 kilometers out from Valldemossa and 1,150 participants.
– Marathon Mallorca from Sóller to Pollença, 44 kilometers, exit at Sóller and 350 participants.

From Ultra Mallorca and with the aim of Mallorca to become a leader in holding tests Trail Running both nationally and internationally has agreed to join the circuit Ultra Cup that accepts only evidence that can provide maximum guarantees the broker and history and quality have proven in the past 2 editions.

And is that Mallorca, and in particular the Serra de Tramuntana and the villages which are part of it, highlighting Calvià, Pollença and Escorca, have lots to offer. An example of promoting this World Heritage by UNESCO in the category of Cultural Landscape spot is that the Ultra Trail largely follows the route of the GR-221, the route of dry stone, a path that follows SW to NE Serra de Tramuntana linking ancient roads built with this technique characterized by the exclusive use of stone in construction and absence of cement and mud.
