Mallorcan gastronomy again in the winners podium

At the end of last year, we talked about the Mallorcan gastronomic scene received two new first stars: one was for Andreu Genestra restaurant in Capdepera. The second fell to Simply Fosh restaurant in the old town of Palma, which is at the head of the kitchen chef Marc Fosh.

Well, this year Mallorca is back on everyone’s lips thanks to the second star obtained by the Majorcan restaurant Zaranda  of Fernando Pérez Arellano trained in prestigious restaurants around the world as Patrick Guilbaud (Dublin), Le Gavroche (London), Don Alfonso 1890 (Naples) and Can Fabes (Barcelona). The chef of Castell de Son Claret, located in Es Capdella, and Coque Restaurant in Madrid by Mario Sandoval are the only two restaurants throughout Spain that have obtained his second star in the Michelin Guide Spain & Portugal 2016. After this new reception, restaurants with Estrella Michelin in Mallorca are: Bou (Tomeu Caldentey); Restaurante Jardín (Macarena de Castro); Restaurante Andreu Genestra; Restaurante Es racó de’s Teix (Joseph Sauerschell); Simply Fosh (Marc Fosh) y Restaurante Es Fum, St. Regis Mardavall (Rafa Sánchez).

Castell Son Claret, where the Zaranda Restaurant is located, is an old eighteenth century castle located in the Serra de Tramuntana, which has become one of the most exclusive 5-star boutique hotel in Mallorca. Forming part of The Leading Hotels of the World, it is located near the small village of Es Capdellà a few minutes from Puerto Portals.
