Once a fishing village, Puerto Pollensa is now a lovely resort in North Mallorca. It is a wonderful choice for those looking for a lively holiday or a laid-back lifestyle.
The area offers a hum of activity, with family-friendly bars and restaurants next to a gorgeous sweeping bay. You can spot the peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana Mountain range as you relax on the large sandy beach.
There is plenty to explore in Puerto Pollensa, too. The famous Pinewalk Promenade wraps around the turquoise shore, offering the perfect place for a stroll in the sunshine. Pollensa is a traditional town with many buildings that date back to around the 18th century. The town’s little winding streets lead to cafés, restaurants, and cultural activities such as the weekly market and local galleries.
A true highlight of the town is the 365 Calvari steps that lead to a little church overlooking panoramic hilltop views. Those looking for a more adventurous walk can head up the nearby Puig de Maria, which leads to a sandstone former monastery and chapel.
Pollensa might sit slightly inland, but it is still only a fifteen-minute drive from its coastal counterpart, making it easy to take a trip to the beach.
