The publication of a recent study confirms something that most already knew about the hotel offer in Mallorca, is that according to these data, Barcelona (171 euros), Palma (151 euros), San Sebastian (126 euros) Madrid (123 euros) and Sevilla (115 euros) are the cities where is most expensive overnight. Palma is the second Spanish city with the most expensive hotel prices in the country, according to the Hotel Price Index.

There´s no doubt that Palma is the favorite European city as destination for trips or breaks of just few days. The increase in the number of arrivals, the higher frequency of flight connections and the increase of hotel occupations are clear evidence of this. In all, Palma, is the Spanish city with the highest growth in revenues per available room.

In this sense, highlights the boom that in recent years, are living boutique hotels in the city, with 19 openings and five hotels under construction and at least two more than will be also join to this list in the future. These hotels are located in historical buildings with great character located near the main arteries of the capital and next to dynamic shopping areas, museums, leisure and emblematic locations. The profile of the type of tourist who stay in these hotels mostly responds to German, British, Nordic and North American citizens with significantly purchasing power whose remain in the city an average of three to four nights.

Another significant event made known by Finnair and its tour operator Aurinkomatkat, which operates in Mallorca without interruption since 1963, is its firm proposal to double the volumes of passengers transported to Mallorca in 2015 during the period 2016-2017, given the strong demand which is recording the destination. This season has notably highlighted the strong 50% increase in travel bookings to Mallorca, Finnish tourists  who during the decades of the 70s and 80s had to Mallorca between her favorite destinations, are rediscovering the island and returning to situate it as first option highlighting, in addition to the beautiful of the environment, the quality of its hotels.
