Where is Pollensa?

Pollensa is a Spanish town and municipality located in the northernmost part of Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands. A little history of Pollensa or Pollença

Pollensa was one of the first settlements in Mallorca, since the pretalaiotic settlers settled on the island during the years 3000-2000 BC. The Alzinaret caves are a good example of this period. From the later, Talayotic period, there are still some examples, such as Puig d'Alberguins and Puig de Ros.In 123 BC, the Romans created an important settlement in Mallorca, Pollentia. The site of Pollentia was in the current Alcudia, where you can visit its ruins and archaeological museum.Where Pollensa is located today, there were some scattered houses of Pollentia, watered by the Sant Jordi torrent. Later, however, Pollensa gained inhabitants and acquired its present name from the Roman settlement Pollentia
