Golf is given special attention in Mallorca, thanks to its warm and sunny climate. The current offer of golf courses in the Balearics is 25 routes, 23 of which are in Mallorca. The vast majority are 18-hole courses, with Pollensa and Golf Santa Ponsa III 9 holes. There is also a pitch & putt course in Son Quint Golf. Mallorca stands out as the best golf destination in the Mediterranean and Spain. Around the golf courses, all located in stunning locations with sea views on the island, are the most exclusive luxury villas, some belonging to personalities from all fields internationally.<\/p>\n

One of Mallorca’s oldest and courses is Poniente Golf Club, near Sant Ponsa, it offers a relaxed atmosphere and is ideal for those staying in Santa Ponsa, Palmanova and Magaluf, just 12km away from Palma. It was designed by John Harris and opened in 1978, it\u2019s a perfect choice to any level golfer. Also in Santa Ponsa is a large, three course golf complex \u2013\u00a0Santa Ponsa Golf Club. Only one of these courses is open to the public but it is Mallorca’s most popular golf course. Another complex of three golf courses is at Son Vida Arabella Golf,<\/strong> to the north of Palma, you can access\u00a0Son Muntaner,\u00a0Son Quint\u00a0and Son Vida. The most challenging golf course is the one at Pula. Situated in the north-east of Mallorca, in Son Servera close to the bay of Cala Millor. It was opened in 1995 and originally designed by\u00a0D.Santiago Sota. From 2004-2006, the course was redesigned by Jose Maria Olazabal to prepare it for use on the International Pro-Tour.<\/p>\n

Also esteemed is the Alcanada Golf Club<\/strong> near Pollensa, which has a coastal setting for its pro course, designed by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. Alcanada Golf Club is the only golf course in Mallorca that is right next to the sea. Lighthouse Alcanada Island, located only about 150 meters into the sea is part Anagram club. Pollenca Golf Club<\/b><\/a>\u00a0is only 9 holes but its location is pretty spectacular, with great views down towards Pollenca Bay and the mountains.\u00a0For a more exclusive round of golf, stay at the Rotana Hotel which has its own\u00a09-hole private golf course.
\nAndratx Golf Club<\/strong> was designed by the famous Gleneagles, Scotland, and opened in 2000.\u00a0The 18 hole championship course is well known as one of the most difficult and challenging in Mallorca.<\/p>\n
